We have one baby chickie so far... another black sex link male. Three more eggs still to hatch. I think I have seen slight movement of two of the eggs.. but that could be my imagination. I am excited to see when the silver laced wyandotte egg will hatch... our rooster is a new hampshire red.. so we should have a red sex link!

I have 5 chicks under Prim this morning!!! One more egg to go for her. I had to go to work, so I couldn't stay home and watch... My Internet is out at work so I can't even post a picture. Maybe by the time I get home I can post a pic of all 6.
Still waiting on Butterscotch's eggs. They're not due until Wednesday...

wow! Congratulations to everyone on their hatches so far & wonderful pictures

I haven't updated in a while because I have been without the internet. Our local telephone exchange burnt down so the internet & all our phones have been out of action!

Any news yet sweetlilbaby?

I had 9 eggs in the bator that I rescued from my broody who quit - I'm happy to say that 8 of them hatched and are doing great! They are now 6 days old. I have pictures but will upload them later on.

Today is hatch day for my current batch! Well.... officially tomorrow is meant to be hatch day but I have some early birds! Super excited. I have 30 eggs that were live when I checked last and approx 1/2 of them are shipped eggs from about 2000 kms away (1250 miles).

Fingers crossed for this batch and everyone else

lockdown is upon us and i'm hearing peeps from the bator....:))

to the person who asked about humidity.... i usually let my humidity go down to 30% before adding any water. i then add just in ONE of the water receptacles. this normally pushes it up to about 50%. at lockdown i try to run it a little higher.

a word of caution about humidity: if the eggs didnt use enough water (inside the egg) at hatching, you could have chicks that die before externally pipping....... (you hatching pros need to chime in for this topic).....please...

Oh sweetlilbaby. Fingers crossed they are going to hatch! Maybe your temps ran a bit low? That can always cause a late hatch.

So far I have 12 that have hatched! But it isn't all good news from what I can see at this stage. Looks like a few have curled toes. They have curled toes, have hatched a day early and are a little sticky

The curled toes are not good as I was hoping that some of these chicks may have been my show team for next year. It seems like the ones with curled toes are the eggs that I had shipped..... so it could be nutritional. My last hatch all came out perfect! I hate this part... all I want to do is open the incubator and have a good look at them!!!

*sigh* so far nothing from my eggs. my dogs alerted to the incubator i watched and listened for hours and nothing. So i took it as they smell something I don't. I broke down and candled the eggs 8 had to be removed. the rest that are still in there look like they are where they are supposed to be but i saw no movement. :( i'm thinking this is a 0 hatch because of the damage in shipping. It makes me wanna cry. I wanted a naked neck chick so bad.
