Anyone going to have eggs hatch in novemeber?

I didn't see movement in my eggs til hatch 3 even though I had chicks hatch. Depending on the egg and the brightness of your light I wouldn't let that worry me. You are past day 21 though right? If you are worried you can open a small hole in the air cell side to look inside.

We put ours in lockdown on Saturday. We had one hatch early Sunday am (1:30ish) and another hatched this morning. The two others have a pip in them and are working on coming out!! We were starting to get a bit concerned because today is day 21 and the last hatch we had all of them hatch before day 20! Still hoping for another 100% hatch rate....

Don't worry or trash those eggs. They can hatch at different speeds even in the same hatch. 2 weeks ago I had one chick hatch 2 days early and another from the same batch hatch 5 days late so it was literally spread across a week.

If it was me (and most people aren't me). I'd open up the air sac end and take a look. You can do this carefully and easily to see what is going on inside the shell. If they have pipped internally but not externally they could use air and you can see if they have blood in the veins or if it is out and they are 'stuck'. If there is blood in the veins they aren't stuck they are running late. Moisten membrane with very warm water, don't get any in their nose. place on wet paper towel in incubator with the beak up but the egg at a 45 degree angle. If they are dead you'll know and be able to trash and clean for your next hatch. If they are moving but not internally pipped I just leave them with a moistened membrane. If I hear cheeping and don't see an external pip in 24 hours then I go ahead an pip them. I just don't normally zip them. Removing from the shell can cause a lot of problem and is way more complicated. Just looking in the air cell shouldn't be a problem. There is even a thread here where a kid removed 1/2 of the shell for a whole hatch to see the chicken grow.

Oh no.. I won't trash anything unless I know for very sure.. This is only our second hatch, and so far all eggs have at least a pip. If this last one hatches we will have a 100% rate this time too. The next two hatches are only a few days apart so I am hoping that they hatch on time!

how do you open up the air sac? Just use a thumb tack or what?

I locked down the incubator last night on day 17 and I just found a pip! I'm super excited, however, it is too early for this guy and he pipped on the wrong side. I KNOW its the wrong end because its an egg I dyed and you inject the dye in the small end opposite the air sac. Well, I can see the pip is just below the injection site and I'm so worried. I just heard a peep though, so he is still alive. I'm torn, I don't know if he'll make it on his own and I don't know if I should clear away some of the shell to help him out so he doesn't drown. :( :( :(
