Anyone gotten sick from their eggs?

No one has gotten sick from eating my eggs, but I went from having a mild allergy to chicken eggs to having a severe one (vertigo attacks the next day). I had been allergy tested by an allergist is why I knew I had a mild allergy but never did much about it except have them rarely. The fresh eggs I was enjoying seemed to flare up the allergy.

So I am raising ducks and ate my first duck egg today, I'll let you know how I do! I only ate part of one small one so far to test it but I can keep you posted.

do you like playing russian ruellette? my brother almost died! if you KNOW your ALLERGIC to eggs DO NOT EAT THEM, allergic reactions like that dont go away they get worse each time. my brother didn't know he was allergic but he thought he might be, he lives alone he came back to my house 2 hours after having the eggs because we were outside not answering the phone. I jumped in the car and raced to the emergency room his face and throat were so swollen he couldn't even talk to tell them what was wrong while I parked the car.

No problems here.

Maybe if we sit tight we can start charging $10 a dozen for home-grown eggs. At that rate it would only take 273 years for me to come out even on my expenses.

Yep, 273 years sounds about right.

And, no, no illnesses from our eggs, ever.

We've had chickens for going on 5 years now. This past July, they started making me sick. About 3 or 4 hours after eating them, I'd throw up. My husband was able to eat them just fine. They are very healthy birds - fed a high quality Non GMO feed from a local feed mill, along with sprouted fodder (barley, oats, peas, boss and flax) and free range on 5 acres of pasture/woods. I assumed that I had developed an allergy to eggs - apparently its fairly common. We got ducks, but the duck eggs made me sick too. No lasting symptoms - after its out your system, you're just fine. However, I found that I am able to eat eggs that aren't from my chickens. This past weekend I caved in when we went out to breakfast and got eggs benedict - felt great. Since I haven't been able to eat eggs for breakfast, my husband hasn't had any in ages - just never bothered since we'd make an egg-free breakfast for me, he'd just have the same. Well today he had 2 duck eggs for breakfast and sure enough, 3 or 4 hours later he was paying homage to the porcelain god. So apparently there is something just in OUR chicken/duck eggs that is making us throw up but I can't imagine what it is. High quality feed, clean fresh water, fresh air and sunshine. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'd send them in for testing if I knew what to test for.

That stinks...and rather strange.
Did you get new birds around that time?
I wonder if the feed components changed, if mill is mixing the feed themselves the source for grains and/or premix can change....
.....or something may have changed with their process/equipment.
Is there any other unique food you are eating with the eggs that you don't normally eat at other times?
I'd test for salmonella and E.coli.
