Anyone gotten sick from their eggs?

Strange, had never heard of someone being allergic to only duck eggs! What's in them that isn't in chicken eggs? Just curious.

The protein in each type of egg is different. I am mildly allergic to chicken eggs, but have no trouble with quail or duck eggs.

No...............now they're recalling some brands of dairy products.

We had chickens a few years ago (we have a different set now) where I found a nest of eggs that were old. I tried to float them to test for freshness. Well I scrambled them and they actually tasted old- kind of an off flavor. I shudder at the memory.

Even then I didn't get sick. Never been sick from our own eggs. I have been ill from store-bought eggs many times though.

My current chickens aren't laying yet.

Ahhhh, interesting. Thanks, learn something new everyday!

I'm allergic to chicken eggs and I miss them. I am hoping that I won't be allergic to my own chicken's eggs. I'm also allergic to several drugs and chemicals. I know that what's in the feed shows up in the egg, so I'm hoping what I'm reacting to isn't actually the egg, but something that's in commercial feed. Am thinking of trying duck eggs to see if I have the same reaction to them. Funny thing, if the egg is in something: bread, cake, casserole... no reaction. But heaven help me if I eat one fried, boiled, scrambled or in quiche!

no one sick here. I talked to a guy at a feed store once that said he had a lady that could not eat store bought but could eat his for a while then had trouble with his till he changed feed, went to a grain the feed store put up. come to think of it I think he was selling her muscovy duck eggs but the thing with the different types of feed I thought was very interesting. she could not eat chicken eggs

How does one know they are allergic to eggs? I get horrible pains when I eat chicken eggs, my own or store bought. I can go a while with no problem and then all of a sudden I get sick every time so I stop eating them for a few years. I have never tried dick eggs.

Edited to add that no one else has gotten sick from eggs of any king in this house.

Nope and we eat our eggs even if I'm treating the girls with antibiotics or Ivomec. I never wash them, only knock the junk off and sometimes they don't even make it into the fridge.
