Anyone had a chick die because of a chick feeder??

I have had an older baby dove drown in a waterer before. The waterer had a cover on it that had a hole in one area big enough for an adult dove to bend its head and shoulders through to get a drink. The dove chick was perched on the edge of the drink hole, bent down to get a drink and then got stuck. The cover was great for keeping the poop out of the water. Just when you think you've found the perfect feeder or waterer, something really sad happens to mock your feeling of security that your doing the best for your birds. Sorry for your frustration.

Yep. That feeder had already been tried and tested with three generations of newborn chicks, so other then intel, whats so different about cornish that they manage to get into such trouble.

They come with massive appetites. Greedy little buggers are good at getting into food troubles. I have seen them INSIDE the jar that screws into a base with small holes to peck through. That was at the feed store and the jar was still 1/3rd full. It had to burrow to get in there.
