Then they need to act as though they aren't the only deal in town, treat their customers with respect, and give them good value for their money. This is in no way saying
Walmart is the way to go, but I can assure you if I'm treated well at a local vendor, I will shop at the local vendor, even if it means a few cents difference in price - read that again, though. A few cents, not dollars. Treat me well and you'll get my money every time. Treat me like it's a pain to deal with me and then, if
Walmart, or Costco, or another vendor is around the corner, that's where my money will go.l
I have a funny story to tell on this matter... I went into a local mom and pop hardward store to buy some things.. a list of them over 700 dollars of stuff. the locals mom and pop were at the desk eating their "dinner" a full sunday dinner at 11am.. and my dh and I told them to continue we would wait til they finished.
we looked around and then the mom came over and we gave her o ur list.. since it was all electrical stuff she said we would have to wait for her dh to get finished. we did.
he did not come from the counter so i went to him. he was sitting there with a dumb lookon his face for a long long time and we had been there 30 minutes or more and so i told him we needed his help.. he looked at me as if i was crazy and said loudy.. "IM BUSY"
iasked what he was doing.. he said he was making a key. he had made a key and was waiting for the woman to go test it out before he got up from the seat. she was gone, by the way.. and so i went to the mom and told her to give me my list.. my dh looked fuzzled out but he followed me out of the store and i told him what had happened.
dont you know mom was disturubed to know she had lost that 700 dollar sale.???
that store went under not long after that and i just dont care.. we were tired we were in need of the supplies and they just did not care at all. we tried to be nice.. and locally but it did not work a one dollar key lost them or sale and our business besides the key was already gone ...
I love
walmart..
