Anyone hatching 20th or 21st? Hatch with me!!!

Yes shipped eggs, 7 others from that batch developed but 37 didn't. I am being told it is my fault or the P.O. . I just hatched a shipped batch at 85% so I don't think it is me. Why would 7 out of the batch develope and then 37 others didn't. Some even had bacteria in them. They were in two different incubators also. I think they are old eggs but so far no one is working with me. I wrote a letter to this person ( I am not going to name this person because this might just be a fluke for her) but the response I got was not what I expected.

I even tried to see if she would send me more ( not all 37 but at least something for $35 )and I would pay shipping. She will not answer me back. I did not expect this from a BYC person maybe ebay but not here.

I am not trying to get something for nothing but to spend $35 for 7 eggs is beyond me. It makes me think maybe this isn't the place I should be on. But I don't want to let one bad egg get me down but it is really hard I was looking so forward to all the different chicks.

I understand your disappointment, but I think most will agree that any time you try to hatch shipped eggs you are gambling with the results. I have discovered that the further they are shipped, the less chances of a successful hatch.

I recently ordered some eggs from a nearby state... I hatched all but one. Ordered some from NY (I'm in Arkansas) and it appears that none of them will hatch though I still haven't had the heart to toss them out.

My suggestion to you and others might be to try and find eggs locally or at least in the States closer to you. I did an online search and found some eggs of a breed I had been wanting not far from where I live. I was elated to see that I could order them closer to home.

Wow, to lose all those eggs is bad, I haved shipped eggs to a few people and recently sent 12 to a nice BYC'er the eggs were routed all over the place and didnt make it to her in almost 7 days. She reported to me today and NONE made it that all developed to some point and died. That they had odd misshaped air sacs and that is more then likly shipping. However I sent her more eggs when the 1st batch was being passed around in the P.O. Those still have awhile to see if they are gonna make it. She paid me both times for those eggs and I offered her today that we would work somthng out with more eggs if this 11 didnt make it. I would never turn my back on someone who losts that many eggs not my fault or not. I would feel I had give that person somthing.

I would think so too. I wasn't trying to get them all replaced or trying to pull a fast one. I just want something to show for my money. I could see 12 and you get 3 good eggs but 50 and maybe 7 and not sure about all of them. I am just sick about this and the way this is being handled.

I do have some recourse if I want thru paypal but didn't want to go that way.

I am sooo excited i got up this morning and actually heard peeping from the eggs. and they must have been rocking and rolling overnight b/c some eggs are in different positions than they were. now i am waiting for them to pip. this is super nerve racking.

How long should I wait for her to respond to my message. I know she has been on and is just ignoring me. I have even wrote the head person on the forum for help. I am not trying to get rich I just want something for my money. I know it wasn't the PO or me. They were old eggs with bateria in them.

I've got one pip so far. 1 other is moving about. only got 4 eggs now out of 7.

I found one dead this morning after a disasterous check on my behalf last night (i thought it was a dud egg & it wasn't). poor little chicky.
