Anyone hatching 20th or 21st? Hatch with me!!!

Me!!

I have a staggering hatch, so hope it will work. I have 9 polish and 6 frizzles hatching on the 19th and 20 EE's on the 20th.

Candled earlier tonight and it's looking good for the polish. I have one egg which is iffy. The frizzles have me a bit concerned. Their air sacs are really weird shaped, but there appears to be life. One of the frizzle eggs is also iffy. Having a lot of trouble candling the EE's. They are so dark, but I do see definite movement in those I can see in.

I had to move 2 week old chicks out of my big brooder tonight and move them to a smaller brooder in anticipation of a large hatch! Of course, I'm trying to be realistic. These are all shipped eggs, so maybe I'll get lucky.

Teresaann, what kind of chicken eggs do you have hatching? I also have turkey eggs in another bator, but they are not due until June 2. This will be my first turkeys! That will really be exciting if I can pull this off.

Good luck! I'll mark this topic so I can keep up with your progress and cheer you on!

I have 18 barnyard mix of chickens in the bator...Ugh there is so many mixes it be hard to name them all..LOL I candled mine tonight all 18 look wonderful. good movement even could see feet kicking in one. I had 24 all together but have lost 6 not sure why. 2 were clear tossed early 2 died early about day 7 or 8 and then 2 more died on day 13 and 14.

I started out with 9 turkey eggs 3 under my hen and 6 in the bator. 1 under my hen didn't develop and now she has 2 left to hatch monday the 18th and 2 in the bator were clear as well so I have 4 turkey eggs left in the bator. I set the chicken eggs with the turkey eggs so they hatch on the same day but they are a day off turkey due on the 21st and chicken eggs due on the 20th so not a bad stagger for me. I went ahead tonight and stopped turning my eggs and raised the humidity with my LG i seem to get early hatches so I decided tonight I'd go ahead and start the 3 day wait.

So far I'v not had the best hatches this is my 3rd time around hatching myself. 1st time i got 2 chicks from 6 silkie eggs. 2nd time I got 7 chicks from 19 silkie eggs. So I have my fingers crossed I have a better hatch this time!!!

Good luck on your hatch Wanda! Plz update when your hatch begins and share pictures of your babies once they begin hatching!

Will definitely keep you updated! This is my second hatch. First hatch, two weeks ago was 6 out of 7 hatched successfully.
These were 5 mottled cochins and 1 mille fleur d'uccle. I lost my second MF. I was elated with the percentage that made it!

Hopefully we'll both get good hatches! Fingers crossed!

Due on the 21st. We have 14 of various breeds. Candled on day 12, but couldn't definitively rule any out any although I thought 3 or 4 were clear. One, felt really strange - when you turned it upside down it thumped from one end to the other. This one is probably dead right? Just put them all back in the incubator to wait and see:fl

Cracked one of my eggs today by accident.

There is no seepage or blood coming from the cracks so hopefully there was no internal damage. I candled later tonight and the chick is still alive and moving. I've upped the humidity and have stopped turning my eggs. Now for the waiting game. If this little egg hatches... it will surely be a miracle. I couldn't believe I was so careless.

ok this is my first hatch and i am joining you guys on the 20th and 21st. i have 12 ameracaunas to hatch on the 20th and 12 barred rocks to hatch on the 21st. i am just flying by the seat of my pants here and hopping i am doing everything right. i have only candled a few with a flashlight and they have a nice big air sac in them and very big dark area that i am assuming is the chick. one of them i could have sworn was moving or at least my hubby convinced me it was. so anywho i am taking them out of the turner today. what should my humidity be at when i do this and my temp. i have a lg still air bator. i have been running it between 100 and 101.9 they are hard to keep super steady especially when i turn the turner every 3 days. someone told me to do that cause the still airs can have warm and cold spots. any advice will help i am super nervouse and hope i am doing everything right.
