i'd say try to get the temperature up at the target level through day eighteen and lockdown on the eighteenth anyway

Day 14 is here. I'm going to candle the BBS Rocks again in a day or so since several seemed so far behind in development and may candle the D'Anvers, but that's it before I put them all on their sides and wait.

Hello there,

Day 14 for me with 6 out of 10 going strong. All are from my Australorp rooster. Think that's pretty good for my first try. I love my genesis incubator. Saw little beaks and claws yesterday while candling. 7 more long days to go....

I have 6 that are going into lock down Saturday. Father is a Cochin, mom is either a RIR or a BR. Can't wait for the hatching.

I realize that this last week will go by and I will need a brooder for these chicks! I've never had more than 6 before. I used a large rubbermade tub for them, but I'm going to have more than that this time. There are still 36 between my incubator and broodies. They're going to need some place to live... what to do?

I'll probably try to put the broodys and babies on the floor of my coop, but I don't know how many chicks they can take care of between the two of them.
