No thats one of the frizzle EEs that I have. The Buff O are piping as well. the barred rocks technically arent due till the day after these......... So I wouldnt be suprised to start and see something from them tomorrow.

I dont even have my brooder ready yet.... I was going to get that ready yesterday but I was kinda incapacitated from dropping a mower deck on my toe........

Hi everyone, such and exciting day!!!
We have 14 chicks from the incubator, 6 more have not done anything yet. I may candle them soon to see if there's anything going on with them. Between our 2 broodys there are at least 7 more, but it is so hard to know since they don't let you look and count.

I'll try to get pictures soon.

Congratulations to everyone.

Hi Bigtime, glad to see you have your hatch underway. Some of mine had pipped and nothing more for 20 hours. They came out just fine. If they've been pipped for more than 24 hours that's when to consider helping. I think Speckledhen posted a link a few pages back that gives the info you need for that. But, it is a good idea to wait.

So far, have 27 chicks. A Buff Orp zipped, then just quit breathing for some reason and the last two D'Anvers were DIS (dead in shell). Still, have lots pipped and waiting for a few others. Here is my rapidly filling brooder:

What are you going to do with so many chickens? lol..I ask, because I can only have a smaller flock. Cute babies!

I have some D'Anvers in another bator..I'm sure not the same same as yours..but I'm kind of wondering what they are like, or do you see most bantams being about the same in personality?

Frizzle?? Way cute then. You will start to see if it will frizzle out in about 5 to 7 days. You tell if the wing tips start to curl up. I have some now that I hatched a few days ago, my first bantams remember? Anyway..I see curled up tips!

I'll pick my keepers when they get a tad older and sell the rest. These D'Anvers are super friendly and fearless! Even DH is impressed with them.

Gotta train them broodys.....I just pick mine up and look or reach under and pull a couple eggs out to candle. If it is close to hatching I just feel under the hen to feel if any have pipped. After the first few times the hens don't bother to object .....course maybe that's why 2 didn't hatch but I think the shell was maybe too tough, or maybe I just didn't leave them alone enough.
