Hey Miss Chevgrl, Its Jen are these eggs the ones you got from me? I feel so bad for the little one with the bum eye. I have never seen that before. I wonder how causes it?

Makes me want to look into it. How many have you got so far?

yeppers they are and they are all doing great...other than yours i only had 1 other hatch so far and Yours were the most fertile and hardy!!! i was going to email you later today and let you know how happy i was with your eggs!!! he had a pretty rough hatch but like i said he is super hardy. a holy terror to the other chicks. The chicks i got from you go from egg to egg as they are hatching and just lay there its too funny then when it hatchs they all start chirping welcoming it. heres a pic of them with the last two eggs that had pipped.

Thanks for the Good eggs and your willingness to fill my double order!!! i will definitely come back for more!!! so far all i have is buffs but, im wondering if they are mixed they are kinda grey colored fuzz...i was hoping for a nice mix of colors BUT i love them all.

I know what you are saying because usually they are sitting down or we make them sit down but for some reason they want to be standing when holding them for pictures. I had figured maybe they were getting used to holding them but I guess not. Like I said... I think its just the little hands. Hard to cover them up.

From now on its going to be a bunnies down policy.

I looked at the rocks.... seems as though they all have the white on the head. Is there a diffrence in shape or color that tells the diffrence? Thats just looking though the glass on the incubator quick. I will look at the legs closer when I move them to the brooder.

That brings up another quesiton. I think I read that you can leave them in the incubator for 3 days living on the yoke. I have been leaving them for about a day and putting them in the brooder after they are good and dry. The ones that just hatched this morning do you think that I could go ahead and put them in the brooder as soon as they are dry? Then I can shut the incubator off and put it away so we can have more room.

What did you think of that egg picture I posted? Would you agree its a dud? As of now its still in the bator. I didnt want to do anything with it untill I got some feedback.

18 of the 20 made it all the way to the bator... the other 2 developed past day 10 but hadnt ade it to day 18 (totally my incubating skills lol)

Well I was thinking. That if it is Hugo's left eye that he can only see out of he could be a Nascar driver, they only make left turns

Oh and let me know when your bator is empty or close to it. I can go out and keep an eye on who is laying what egg and try and get you a variety of colors. An Easter present from me to you.

Look up sexing Barred Rocks....they say it is the shape of the spot on their heads....round or jagged edge. But I don't know which is supposed to be male and which is supposed to be female....go figure. I have a bunch of BR eggs in my incubator. So, I need to find out too. Also the shape of the wing feathers. All things I am going to search on here while waiting for mine to hatch. The hardest ever is a cochin....although I only had one when I got my chickens so not a female to compare it with....so maybe it will be easier with the chicks to figure out M/F.....
