If you want to make sure it eats, after it fluffs up, you can give it special feedings separated from the rest of the flock. If you give egg yolk from a hard boiled egg you can replace the nutrients that it left behind.

As of this morning I have 7 pips!!! 5 in my Lav Bantam AM's, one in my BBS AM's and one in my Buff Orp eggs!!

I only have 3 eggs from my original 16 sent, one was broken upon arrival and the other ones died!

I'm hopeing to get more though.

Thank you guys so much. That makes me feel a little bit better. Out of 6 so far 4 have hatched (including my little troublesome one). My rooster is black and 3 of my chicks are black. Number 4 is YELLOW!!! How funny. I wonder if my hatchlings will eat the yolk that number 4 left behind, or maybe he'll eat it himself. It will be interesting. Number 5 has pipped 24hrs ago and no progress yet. Becoming a little worried there. Number 6 has done nothing yet but it is an EE egg that has a thick shell. And it is only Day 21 for it. Oh lord, this is very exciting. I am trying not to interfere at all but I read some of the posts that suggested to interfere after a 24hr wait on a pipped one. I will see how he does when I come home from lunch.
