I've had a couple like that, I put neosporin on it..plus, I made a real light mixture of electrolytes, and gave it a tiny drop of it every hr. and a half. Hold it's little head up so it can swallow the drop. This little one does look weak. It will take the drop, make a few little swallowing motions, but wait for the big stretch of the neck that means it really swallowed good. They do it that way every time. Good luck. Pretty baby.

Thanks I will do that this is the only LF egg that has hatched I have an EE that pipped 5 hours ago with not much progress.

Well I decided to float test the 3 eggs, and all 3 were the perfect flotation for a viable chick. So then I put them back in the bator without the carton, and one of the eggs I didn't think was alive, rolled and crashed into the other egg, lol. Guess it had an agenda? Weird, really! Guess we'll see what happens. I am not giving up just yet though.

I had a chick with the similar problem last hatch. And a BYC member told me to wrap it in a moist warm paper towel and so if it would finish absorbing it. So I did it and it work for my chickie. But it had only been out of shell for like 10 min

Thanks the only thing is... i dont know how long it is before they lose their absorbing capibilities

ok so i cleaned the incubator out this am really well with bleach. it aired out and dried all day. i just set it up to start getting the temp regulated and i opened it and it smells like bleach. it didn't before i turned it on tho. i'm not going to put more eggs in til mid week. will the bleach smell hurt the eggs? should i open it up again for a while? it took me a long time to get temps right last time so i wanted to start early this time

I don't know about bleach I always do like a gal. Of Water to acouple tbsp bleach its the same mix i use with my kids toys to disinfect and i've never had a problem.

Good idea to start early
