That's great Suechick. I am also in the process of selling some. Sold two of my Ameraucanas, and a chochin. I want to watch my RIR's. I want two hens from the ones that hatched. Wonder how long I'll have to wait to know what I have!
If I go by the feathering, I have two that could be possibles.
Hmmm, feathering. How reliable is that? Mine are a week old and some have many of their wing feathers in, others have stumpy looking wings. The last time I hatched Buff Orps the stumpy wings were roos and the faster growing wings were hens. Is that true of all breeds? I mean, is it safe to make decisions about your chicks from the feathering? If it is true, the gal today got 2 hens and 4 roos.
Oh I'm not sure on it. I have had luck with it more often or not..or, was it just that>>luck! Pick of the draw? Something like that. I hope the feathering thing works for me this time with these RIR's. I can only keep a few to watch..I am watching quite a few that I want to keep!
Plus, I am putting up another smaller coop and run for some bantams that I started..oh my goodness, I have a feeling that I'm going to love the bantams. I have a couple of frizzles cochins right now..that I got from a gal on here, and they are frizzle. The little wings are sticking out there like if you were to put them in the wind, it would wind them up and off they would go! Too cute. My husband and son are getting a kick out of them. I hope they are sweet. Will have to handle them more than my egg layers.
Hey bburn...more babies?? I'm guessing yes?
Suechick, when do you think we will start another thread?
