From a breeder on here, POPPAJO. I don't blame them one bit for it(Excellent breeder btw, took so much tlc with packing the eggs I knew they cared a lot about them). Sometimes things happen. Hens are living things and they can't get it right all the time and the only way to know for absolute sure an egg is infertile is to incubate and wait or to crack it open and check the yolk. Neither of which are options to breeders, as far as I know they can really just be very certain because the females are in with male(s) and the eggs have come up fertile before. Some people mentioned candling eggs for fertility but I doubt that's 100% accurate especially since I candled all my eggs carefully for cracks before placing in the bator. I'm not an expert, a complete novice in fact, but I saw no difference from one egg to the other whatsoever. In the case of a full batch though. It could be their roo shirking his duties and simply not realizing he was or just really crappy luck or the post office killing them early... or just the darn thing really did just give up from the get go without even trying.
Pretty much though, if I got a decent sized batch(at least 6 eggs) and none of them developed at all and when I cracked them open I was seeing the same thing with those two eggs - I'd contact the breeder. They might help you out, they might not. They'd still be out the eggs that they could have eaten or used otherwise. My two eggs didn't smell bad when I cracked them at all so I scrambled them and added them to my dog's food. I bet that sounds odd but hey the dog loved it and they were perfectly fine. I would have eaten them myself but watching these guys develop has totally put me off eating eggs. Too much in protective mother hen moad. I saw one moooviiinnnggg, it made it impossible to sleep that night.
