Anyone hatching Dec 14th? Looking for hatching buddies for 1st hatch!

I candled mine today and so far 3 look great and 1 is questionable. Since it is only day 6 I will leave the questionable one in. Then I decided to set 4 more buckeye eggs. 1 bantam and 3 LF. They will be due on the 19th. Since we are having a hatching shower I will bring the deviled eggs.

I also won some Buff Orpingtons and Ameracauna eggs on ebay and will be setting them next week when I get them for a Christmas hatch. I already told my husband that our 2 acres may be too small. I plan on getting some turkeys in the spring and the kids still want to get some Marans, Mille Fleur D'Uccles, Blue Orpingtons, more Serama's, and the list goes on...

sekinkead - how many did you set? Sounds like you'll be having a chick christmas?

We live in suburbia with a postage stamp yard because of where my hubby has to work. I told him I was meant to be a farmer and we need to move. He didn't buy it. At least he's allowing me a few chicks in the yard.

Suechick, I set 4 bantam Buckeye's last weekend, 1 bantam and 3 LF Buckeye's today and will be getting 10 BO and 9 Ameracauna eggs in the mail next week.

I got cought with mine and got 7 days to remove my "livestock" or it was going to be 100 a day fine. I didn't give up my eggs though. 36 are due around the 7th. I have a friend that will take them but may keep a few. I am friends with a local farmer and I am going to ask if I can rent a field to put my chicken tractor in.
