Anyone hatching Dec 14th? Looking for hatching buddies for 1st hatch!

Well I just got home from work (and the store afterwards) and before I even unloaded the car, I ran in the house to see if we had any movement and we do!!!!

This is my first time to hatch eggs from my own breed of chickens, it's always been eggs bought somewhere else or donated. Not including my guineas, I did theirs twice last summer. Need to get the camera ready! (oh, and put the groceries away

Thanks, I am getting the stink eye in that picture. I think it's cute to.

MTtroutwithwings - congrats on all the pips. We expect pictures as soon as they hatch!!!

Well we're up to six pips now, no zips yet but they're talking to me when I whistle to them. Brooder is already to go and it's almost midnight, I've been up since 5:30 this morning and I'm calling it for the night. Hopefully I'll wake to a bunch of fuzzy butt! I'm just so glad they started tonight, it would of be hard to go to work if this were going on last night but I'm on Christmas break now so I get to enjoy them for the next two weeks!

Night all!

Well, any fuzzy butts this morning? You are so lucky you get to spend time with them the next two weeks. I had one pip yesterday morning and I had to go to work. I worried about it all day! The nice thing is that the chickie waited to hatch until my husband got home. Yesterday was his birthday and he got to watch one hatch. I think he may join me soon in the family chicken obsession. I already got the kids on board.

I have two fuzzy butts!!!!! I woke at 6:34 and flew out of bed, my DH said, "Whats wrong"? I reply, "baby check" and flew down stairs! Removed them from the bator and moved to the brooder, they were fairly dry already, must of hatch shortly after I went to bed. One is so alert she was follow my hand around and kept jumping into it! She know her mummy!

They're both bright yellow! Still no more pips yet, just the original 6, down to four but I'm not worried, they come when they're ready. One of the pips has his little beak poking out just chirping away! It's going to be a long but fun day:p
