I'm a total addict I've got 5 eggs under a Broody cochin Bantam hen due Monday. I'll keep you guys updated and hopefully post some pictures!

The eggs are a mix. The hen was supposed to be a Salmon Faverolle and so was the rooster but they could be Penedesncas, or Brabanters. I have 4 of these and 1 Bantam. This one could be either, Silver Spangled Hamburg, Buff Rosecomb, Mille Fleur, Silver Sebright, or Japanese crossed with a blue rosecomb rooster.

guys how long can a chick suvive when they internally pip there is only so much air in the egg

i just purchased a hovabater 1602N it doesn't have circulated air, i did get the turner. do i need to worry about the air not circulating? i have ordered eggs and would like to set it within the next few days. thanks

We added a computer fan to our incubator. it worked great.

I just had my second chick hatch about 11 hours after the first. The older one is chasing the younger one around and pecking at its head. Is this normal? I've got 7 more eggs that have yet to hatch (I don't think they're doing anything yet) so I don't want to take them out but I'm a little worried about the little guy!

okay I help it out ..... it was stuck....I pried back a bunch of shell and put it back in the bator but the other chicks start picking on it pecking its leg etc etc. I panicked and took it back out and helped some more... well it hadn't absorbed the yolk sack all the way but didn't seem to be attached. It has a red bump on its bum where it incomplete absorption is.... It is VERY FEISTY but still the other chicks were picking on it as it was learning to stand so I moved him to his own warm safe place.... He made it through the night and is still feisty this morning.... How long should I keep him away from other chicks??? Do I wait until his bottom has healed? I am also worried that he will need nutrients much sooner as he didn't get them all from the yolk.... but am afraid to encourage anything that will stress his little system. Am I worrying too much

My other eggs are doing nothing and it is day 21.... I am guessing they aren't going to hatch but I'll give them a few more days....
