I posted a question about reintroduction to the flock. Will ya'll look and let me know what you think.
I know hatching in November isn't ideal, but she wanted babies so bad, so I let her sit them.

That is a nice one!
Are you sure he's not picking himself out a new toy?
(just kidding ;-) )
I think the section in the middle would drive me nuts though , blocking the view to watch. lol! The rest has a good view.! Only holds 24 chicken... is that going to be big enough?
I've noticed the stinkers seem to pip on top. I like the havo genisis 1588 that we are currently using. At lock down, I positioned the eggs to the outer edges and we can see them all hatch.
Were looking into a second bator too.
I found a small neat one that can be used for cool storage, or a bator, or reptiles. I have a pair of geckos. Hoping to hatch some of their eggs come spring.
Yes,!!! It's really addicting when you start hatching lizards too! :lol

Wish I had the answer for ya but I don't have any brooder hens yet, so I have to keep mine seperate until they are big enough to introduce to the flock and take care of themselves, which does suck, I hope to have a broody hen by next spring!

Oh my goodness! It sounds like you had a long night last night Silkiemom!
that your incubator let's you get some sleep tonight. Maybe this Christmas "Santa" will bring you a new Brinsea or Hova.
The Critter place, I know how you feel! It's so hard to wait once they pip! I had my face smashed up against the incubator window like a kid looking into a toy store all day yesterday!
Hopefully both of you get cute little peeps hatching soon!
Yes it was, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end,
I've read good things about the r-com incubators! I have heard that that model is similar Brinsea's octagon 20 advance. So I don't think you could go wrong with an r-com or a brinsea, both companies put out a great product.

I have two of these and they are awesome
It is a little bit of effort to get the humidity right for chickens though

That one does look nice, doesn't say how much it is though?
Yea he's definetly a keep,
Ya... If I remember it's about $200. But I've seen it on ebay and amazon for $99
The only thing that concerns me is we'd need to come up with a way babies don't fall out when we open it!
I cut a plastic shelf to fit out of a plastic "shoebox" lid and when it's time for lockdown I slide it on top of the real shelf and set the eggs on it. So far no problems
