How long can an egg be pipped before it may be in trouble? One of my eggs has been pipped since 9:30 last night and as the 24 hour mark is getting close, I'm wondering if I should be concerned or if I should just get out of the house for the night? ...what was that saying about a watched pot again? It always seems to slip my mind come hatch time!
I'm so excited! Good thing I lockedown when I did!
They did this to me last time too! Right after lockdown, but not due till tomorrow! Little stinkers!!
Anyway.. Really excited!! these are our own eggs! and the first we put in the bator! I got 8 babies off craigslist this summer and these are the first from them we are incubating!
Back to watching! And trying to clean and set up a new brooder for the chickens. Gotta make room for the ones about to hatch!

I bet those little quail hatchlings will be adorable! Will you be posting pictures after they hatch?
I think my little egg could stand to take notes from your quail, maybe then it'd get motivated and hatch! LOL.
It was the second to pip and it is surely taking its sweet time! Even Snorkle/Tank has hatched. (Yay!) I looked at a couple different posts about it, some say to assist after 24 hours and some say to leave it alone.
I'll look over Pete's post again and see if I can find anything.
