My DH was not liking me digging through the wood pile!

Well I got 10 silkies that hatched and 2 I have been treating for splayed legs (1st ones I have had) Is it common in Silkies? ... But I have 8 healthy babies right now that are just tooo cute

2 partridge
2 lavender
1 blue
1 buff
1 Dark/Blue/Black
& one I don't know what color it is ~ little bit of blue, some buff, kinda dark

2 ~ splayed ones are getting extra special luvs

I hope they start picking it up. I did some research on how to treat them, hope I am doing it right ~ Any advice or pictures?


My daughter really really wanted a white one, I guess that means I need to order more! So these were my eggs that were "lost" in the mail over Thanksgiving. 13 eggs didn't hatch.

But that was of no fault of CJ's

Idid however just hatch 24 out 30 DARK RIR ! I love my bator, I would like to think my great hatch rates have something to do with me but it really is BIRDS & BATOR. I ordered some more Marans from the farm I just hatched my only bad hatch where I got 3 ot of 12

She is sending out on the 26th after holiday rush and "hooking" me up

For being a newbie I am winging it WITH great help from all of you!

I use an electrolites for all my peeps, and I bought some sav a chic stuff that I am now giving the two with banded legs, I also have the two seperate from the others (for some reason they were getting pecked on)

I also give vitamins to all my peeps, but if there is a health problem a give an additional drop of polyvisol a day. It seems to make a world of difference. Keep us updated on them!

What do you sell your peeps for where you are at?

The polyvisol can be purchased at a drug store, its a vitamin for infants. Be sure and get the ones without iron. I sell the pet quality for $5-10 depends on the age and color.
