umbilical cords? wow, I learn something new on here everyday

I wasnt aware they came out with a cord. I will find something to lay on the bottom then. so should I just lay them on their sides on bottom then?

It's not really a cord but some still have a little stump or string attached. It can get caught in the wire. Poor AJ had one that got caught and it pulled the whole yolk sack back out and she lost the chick.

Thanks again for all the help everyone. Here is my update:
I ended up reaching in and grabbing that first little fuzzy butt. It stayed active in the bator for 30 minutes before I finally had to take him out. I put it in the brooder and it still ran around for another hour. It came out of the smallest egg and is my strongest and biggest chick.
I had 3 more hatch. All are now in the brooder and doing well.
Thursday was day 21 but I still have the bator on. I noticed an egg moving slightly late last night but nothing this morning. When is it safe to turn the brooder off and dispose of the eggs?

Congrats to everyone else who hatched. There are some beautiful chicks on here.

Overall, this was a great learning experience for me. Im thankful for the 4 I have. I had 15 eggs that were shipped from Pennsylvania in December. Got the due date wrong, took the egg turner out way too early. Had several temp spikes. So I actually feel very lucky to have these sweet 4.
