Tomorrow is hatch day for my 4 Faverolles and my mixed Bantam! I've got 2 pipped so far and my broody hen is so happy ^_^

it was also my first time hatching and it wont be my last WARNING hatching eggs is very addictive u could have chickens every were U HAVE BEEN TOLD

I was just reading Maharoni's Easter Hatch thread and feeling the excitement building of everyone getting reading to set eggs. It got me thinking "hmmm, my 1st chicks hatch (fingers crossed) about 10 days prior to the set day (3/17 if you haven't heard!!) and I go from "No way I can get involved with that" to "I wonder if it's better just to leave the incubator running for the 10 days". That thought made me think that we're like a bunch of drug addicts, all agreeing to do (insert drug of choice) at the same time nation (world?)wide. We're all encouraging each other to do it and even offering eggs to "help you out"

Then I started thinking that someone should invent a microwave-a-bator so you could put eggs in for 8 hours on 50% power and out pop the chicks. But I was just day dreamin at that point. . .

I candled my eggs today and threw out 7 that were bad, one was dead(blood ring). I have 19 that are doing great! I started out with 27 shipped eggs.
