Anyone hatching on 20/21st August?

I can't help but to update with a picture of my beautiful GIRLS (so I 'm hoping) Lav orps

One of these things is not like the others.. I got an oopsy I've been told.. the blonde is from the mottled/jubilee project. As long as she's a shade of lavender I don't much care.. or she can stay white.. thats cool too.

Best of Luck to all of you on Lock Down..

I have a buff orp who started life looking exactly the same as your little yellow one!

Congratulations on a great hatch, hope mine goes as well

Looks like I've got 5 hatched so far. At least 3 are half bantam cochin ). And my only pure bantam cochin hatched a pretty little blue! Woot woot!!

One of the chicks looks like it could be a pure SSH. I've got 4 SSH hens, but my roo died some time ago. We can't remember when. If this is his baby, the egg was laid probably 6 weeks after he died!

Come on other 5 eggies...

6 out of 10 hatched so far. It's so hard not lifting up mama to check on progress! You can see one in front of her that looks like a SSH, and the little blue cochin right next to it. One of the blacks has a beard like an EE, with cochin feet. YAY they're darling!

4 more, come on babies!

Keep sitting on those hands Jossann...you are doing a great job so far! Congrats on your beautiful babies.

Update on mine (no pics...forgot to bring the camera to the farm)..five fuzzbutts in the brooder and two eggs left in the bator. Not sure if they will do anything but will give them three more days. Forgot how cute baby chicks are!

My chicks weren't due until tomorrow, I thought. Now I've got 8 or 9, and I gave in and lifted up mama and saw one more pipped. It's so hot here, all the babies are out from under mama. One has a nicely vaulted skull, and I'm hoping it's a pure silver-laced polish. It could also be from my buff-laced polish. It could be only half polish, but I'm hoping the vaulted skull means its mama is a polish too....

Here's to a great hatch for all of us!

12:40am here, and I have to leave for work at 5:20am. What the heck am I still doing up?

But I couldn't sleep, and I knew I wouldn't have a chance to check on the hatch before I leave in the morning, so I went out to see if there was anything I could do to help the baby who had pipped. I'd hate to find after I get home from work that it had died after pipping. So I went out, armed with a pair of tweezers, to just pull off a piece or two of shell (I KNOW, I don't need a lecture about helping, I had a moment of weakness).... (I also know that I should leave her alone, but, again, I had a LARGE moment of weakness HAHA)....

The pipped baby has zipped, and the other egg is pipped and I can see a beak working away at the hole. That will be 10 babies out of 10 eggs that developed. I tossed two at their 9-day candling that were clear.

One of my babies looks like an australorp/bantam cochin cross, and it's blue, feather-legged, and HUGE compared to the bantam cochin. I hope it's a pullet so I can keep it. It looks just like the bantam baby, but twice its size...
