Anyone hatching on 20/21st August?

and kassy68...

Wow, what I wouldn't give for space in the henhouse for a batch of those lavender orps! What precious babies! I want to watch them grow up...

Yay on all the hatches!

I have two eggs with cracks.....all rocking and cheeping!! Come on babies - I am not going to get anything done today!!

Congrats on your hatch ~ I have a bator full now and this morning I had a new OE bantam chick and a beardless silkie chick ~ I have another OE that has piped... So I know all too well how hard it is to keep from checkin things out in the middle of the night ~

Was it in a big egg? I noticed my orps that were in the normal/big eggs were huge compared to the other chicks hatched outta the small eggs.. Hoping she's a pullet for you too.. I know the feeling.. Now its the waiting game

Well I woke to 3 hatched, only had one last night, and another almost hatched but making no effort to release self. One also hasn't absorbed everything yet so may not make it. This is the worse hatch I have had. Lost so many before finished incubating and those due today are making no effort but those due tomorrow are hatching. Makes no sense but will take what I can get with this batch. Most expensive but worst hatch rate. SO, with 60 eggs due over the next few days we'll see if I can even get close to 25-50%, probably not.

what are you trying to hatch? My extra yolk sac chick is doing great now.. I helped her hatch to start and she slept all day long.. got a little wind the next morning and by afternoon she was finally up and eating like the rest.. give her time.. She was number 2 out so there wasn't a bunch running over her either.. I kept her in the corner as much as possible not to get run over or disturbed.. I did bath her though and blew dry her to get her fluffy for her own body heat. Now I call her dingle berry.. cuz she's got the dried up raisin looking thing hanging.. but someone picked at it last night and got it a little bloody.. but it IS drying up.. hope everything closes off properly underneath.. she will be marked somehow

1 hatched in incy (out of 3) and I can see at least 3 under the broody (out of 6) photos to follow!

Jossanne,
Yes, they are blue andalusians. I am new to the breed.

I have now 4 hatched, 2 andalusians and 2 welsummer x barred rock cross. Two are not looking good but have hopes they are just tired. One other is pipped and maybe trying to start zipping. The other 42, nothing. I am getting down over lack of work from any of the RIR's. I lost 6 of those from nothing forming and now the others are due today and nothing happening. May be a complete loss on those. Just have to keep telling myself, PATIENCE. Hatch on everyone.
