Anyone hatching on Christmas??

I haven't had any luck with chickens since it got colder. The birds that need higher humidity are the only ones that are working for me!

I don't hatch all the time! I have only hatched button quail lately. Every chicken I've hatched in the last month has died. So I'm off those till spring. I gotta hatch SOMETHING!!! And he is very excited! He so wants a baby duck! He wanted a black one, but he'll live. (those are on the way

)

Oh, and I hope you do get a piggy, they are so much fun! Horton is very sweet, and you saw how cute he is! Just make sure your pits don't eat it!

Shelley what do you do with all the the quail? Seems like people are hatching them in very large numbers!

The button quail are just pets. That's what I have the most of right now. The jumbos I'm getting and the A&M's and pharoahs I already have will be eventually for meat and eggs. They lay more eggs per pound of feed than a chicken does. Maybe I won't be allergic to those!

Okay, I candled all my EE eggs last night, and 10 are viable!! I am so excited!! The 2 Silver Sebright eggs are also viable!! And my mystery eggs are too!! I can't wait for Christmas!!!

I hope the ones that don't look good are good!! I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas Day!! We are already trying to figure out names for them that have to do with the season!!

Noel, Grace, Angel, Holly, Ivy, Nick, Kris,...not too many boy names I can think of. Good luck with that!

You have a lot of names to come up with! I don't bother with ducks, they all look the same to me! However, my girl pekins are both either 'cry-baby' or 'whiner' depending on my mood. They are so loud!

O.K. I'm so busted but my bator is turned off for the second time this winter for good. You beleive me don't you! lol
