I'm waiting on it but yea... kinda had a feeling, these eggs looked exactly like the two from my last attempt that didn't do squat and not to blame the seller but the package wasn't even very clearly marked. Like it looked like the eggs might have been left somewhere either VERY hot or VERY cold at some point as it looks like the fluids solidified around the airsack into a sort of crust even ><

I have one hen that went to setting full time the night of 12/15/09. So they should hatch 1/5/10 or the 6th. She's a OEG & this is her first brood. She's on 20 eggs! So hopefully quite a few will hatch. I'm very excited too since this will also be my first peeps in 20 years!( I had gotten out of the chickens back then) Good luck every one!

This is the mother to be. We call her Dottie. Since she has one white tipped feather on her wing.

Best of luck to you and Dottie! She's a beauty! I have quite a few OEG's in the incubator...barred, spangled and some that are not marked. It's like Christmas all over again, lol. I don't know much about the breed but I've heard good things.

Sorry to say, cracked all twelve open - post office completely scrambled the whole lot. The yolks were all completely scrambled some were even sort of dried out and chunky. >< it was very odd.

I'm starting to wonder if that isn't what happened to these last 24 silkie eggs I set 3 days ago. They were lost in the mail for 3 weeks, finally showed up, so I put them in the incubator to see. Nothing inside at all. I will probably leave them till lockdown but then take them out. I would like the space for the ones I know might hatch. Hoping and praying they make it...I always get iffy about this time wondering.

Sorry again Rin.

I was cleaning out the coop today - in preparation for the upcoming hatch - and heard a distinct cheeping underneath one of my broodies. It's 3 days early, so tomorrow I will be baby prepping the run.

How was your hatch ZooMummzy? I would love a banty OEGB rooster, but DH is taking a firm no more roosters stance. Phooey. Also on my list of wants for a spring hatch is seramas, so I'm looking forward to seeing yours hatch out for you.

The hatch should take place Wednesday for the incubator and Thursday for Fiona. She already tossed one egg out. It had a hole in it so I covered it with candle wax and put it in the bator. We'll see. Maybe there was a reason she tossed it out but I had to try. Tell DH you NEED an OEGB

LOL Or better yet a Japanese/Cochin or a very pretty EE Roo

I can't find homes for the ones Diana and I hatched out in November

I'm really hoping for the Seramas but I have to tell you I'm a bit nervous after everything I've read. There are two in the bator and 2 under Fiona. I'm patiently waiting
