Anyone have a clue what he is???

My husband put him in with all the hens and so far he isn't trying to fight with any of them but he seems to have no interest in doing the wild thing with any of them. He does stand guard while they are in the coop laying though, he will go in and stand around like he is waiting to inspect the eggs or something...hahaha! I guess it's good that he does watch over the hens but I kind of wanted some chicks by him. Does anyone know why he wouldn't have any interest in my ladies?

Give him time. I have 2 roos that refuse to get busy when someone is around and I am around alot, but I still get fertile eggs out of their pens. He may be shy.

Give him time. Sounds like he is going to spend some time getting to know the girls first - always a good sign - at least to me it is.

My roo also goes into the coop when the girls lay. I even have a couple hens who call him to the coop, He will then prepare their nest box and then girls will get in to lay, he will chortle and comfort them while they lay and when done - my roo sings the egg song with them.
