We have a Wii, and it's a lot of fun. The kids love it! They also have and x box but they're pretty busy during the week and the Wii seems to work better for 15 minute blocks of game time. As for myself, I've tried it a few time but the last video game I was good at was Pong on the Atari. Once they added all those buttons I was lost!
We have Wii and love it. It's the best system that we have ever owned. I have 3 kids that range in ages from 16 to 10. There are a ton of family games that everyone can play TOGETHER and enjoy. Our family loves the Mario games. It's fun for all ages. We also use our Wii for intenet and netflix. My pc was down for months and we did not rush out to get a new pc because I could check emails and surf the web on the wii.
To use the wii to go online, you have to connect it to the internet. My hubby found this great device at Verizon called the MIFI2200. It sends out a wireless signal to up to 5 devices including our 2 laptops and our wii. The weather channel funtion, wii shopping and news channel will not work without internet connections. We don't use a land phone line, we just have cell service, but I guess you can connect the wii to the internet through the phone line.
The best advice I can give you is to thoroughly read the mannual. It will answer all of your questions about hook up and trouble shooting.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy the Wii once you get it working
Gahhh! I see that you have to be a person with coordination to use this game system! (something i was born without.. )
I havent even tried the sports games yet... I cant even play Wheel of Fortune!
Trying to click on the little letters is crazy...
I did kick butt at jeopardy though... (didnt require much coordination..)
Wish me luck with physical games... its gonna get ugly..
Oh and just a lil warning PLEASE UNPLUG THE Wii WHEN YOUR NOT USING IT My cousins house was burnt to the ground due to a Wii shorting out while they were gone to our Thanksgiving dinner last year. It was turned off but plugged up. The Fire Dept told them that theirs wasn't the first house to burn down due to one, and that everyone should unplug them when not in use..
