Anyone Have Any Cheap Red-Neck Plucker Ideas ?

I did two ducks in mine on its inaugural run Sunday. I added dish soap to the scald water after I had finished the chickens. I normally put a few drops in the water even to do chickens, but I added more since the ducks would need it. I also used a little hotter water for the scald for the ducks, nearer 170. FYI.

Well it went pretty good I guess. I made a drill plucker thing but it was pretty useless on the duck and I believe I saw somewhere where Dogfish said his didnt work on a turkey either.,sooooooooo I had to do it by hand it was a lot eaiser that I was expecting from what I had heard. What I did was after I killed it and it was still dry, I rubbed in some dish detergent with my hand and worked it down into the feathers. Then I put some detergent in the bottom of the scalding pot, put the duck in, and poured the water over it and then plunged the duck around in it the water for a little while, then I tried the plucker and it wasnt doing anything and I'm sure the slick soap wasnt helping that part, so I did it by hand and it all came out pretty easily and I used a blow torch to singe off the hair feathers.

So heres what I ended up with, it is almost 5.5 pounds dressed out like this.

Hopefully I can get the plucker to work on something, I dont have pics of it uploaded yet but it looks pretty cool if I could just get it to work. It probably needs more grip.
