Anyone have chicks due around Nov. 5th?

Wait at least three days. Sometimes it just takes longer. We had a chick that hatched 4 days after the due date.

Keep us updated!

I guess by your handle that you have silkies. I first got four bantams three silver duck wins and one silky. I sold the two silver duck wings(one got killed by one of my dogs, still training them) because the little rooster keep fighting with the big roosters i have now. Rhode island red rooster and hen, Americana rooster and two hens and three mixed hens. I am hoping to keep the little silky as a pet. She sees me as her gaurdian angle now because I keep the big chickens off of her. She will let me pick her up now, I hope they will eventually get along. I only let her out with the big ones when I am home. She is so cute we call her Elvira because her hair sticks straight up.

Yes, I have lots of Silkies. I even have a Sizzle (frizzled silkie). We call our Silkies the "Poodles of the Poultry World"

. They are born spoiled!

Update!: All chicks have hatched, and are under their mommys.

They are so cute. And they are also the biggest chicks I have ever seen! I'm positive they are going to pass up their mommy's in height very soon.

Mama Hen taking her babies for their first walk. She left 3 eggs in the nest and one of them was trying to hatch still. He was one of the first to pip and has been trying for about 3 days now. I have him in the incubator and am trying to help him out. He seems to have pipped below the air cell which would explain why he's having a hard time. Poor fellow.

Pics!!! I can't hold on much longer!

Well three of the four eggs hatched successfully.STICKY who was born shrink wrapped as one of you had mentioned, is doing fine. She is getting fluffier as you can see. I think they are all female by looking at the feathers on the end of their wings. Thanks for all the advise. I don't think the last egg is going to produce, but will wait one more day to see; it isn't even moving.

Here are the babies!

Is that your rooster in your pic? It looks exactly like one I had. He's in the freezer now...

What kind is yours?

This is not a great pic of him, but it's the only one I can find. This is right after a dog attack, and they ripped all his pretty tail feathers out.

They are super cute!
