ANYONE HAVE EGGS DUE!! CHARTS ON PAGE ONE POST ONE!! NEWCOMERS WELCOME!!!

Ok, so today is day 21...or day 20 since I put them in the bator late in the evening. Anyway, there is no pipping and I noticed a smell in my bator so I took 2 of the eggs I marked earlier that I didn't think were developed and candled them...yep they never developed, just yolks. I threw those 2 away. I grabbed a third I had marked and as soon as I picked it up IT STARTED CHIRPING!!!! I put it back immediately. I won't be opening the bator again...do you think it will be okay? :(

I have a hygrometer that I got off amazon for like $6, I think. It works great! It's for reptiles. Here it is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004257JY4/ref=ox_ya_os_product
I'm not sure yet...I think I do but the humidity is a little hard to keep consistent. I'll let you know later, this is my first hatch :)
:( Oh no! I'm sorry! These silkies I have are shipped eggs too and I am really worried they will be deformed, not hatch or die or something.
Ur eggs should do fine. Im in California and these eggs came from Florida. So they had a long way to go. I have heard of alot of people having luck with shipped eggs. But i never do

Well my first hatch is done and if I counted right there are 41 chicks. That's out of 60 I put inane it includes the 2 that I gave to my broody hen a week before hatch. They where set to hatch yesterday so more might have hatched but when I got up both incubators where off and it stinks in there preaty bad so I took the chicks out and put in the brooder. Somehow the power strip I had them plugged into slipped down between the table and wall and the switch got hit on it.

2 of the chicks where still wet from hatch I hope they dry out under the heat lamps ok. The rest where nice and dry already when it went off.

At least u have 41 chicks. What kind did u hatch?

Mostly mixed, there are a dozen white Sussex in there though. Being my first time incubating I just went cheap. I am still deciding what duel purpuse breed I want to keep and collect eggs to incubate from.

going cheap ur first time incubating is good. I went the expensive way and bought soo many eggs and a incubator, and not one hatched, kinda my fault, i didnt read up on incubating, But now i have it down pretty good lol

Well I was due to hatch tomorrow, however I came home from work last night to hear peeping coming from the bator! looked in and the first chick had pipped and I managed to watch my first chick hatch! how cool, Japanese bantams. now we are at about 18 chicks all bantoms so far on the ground doing well, 16 to go.

I'm a Moma!

I just checked my silkie eggs. None were good. They were suppose to hatch today. I did an Egg topsy and one was deformed. One had a weird bump on its head, and the other two failed to absorb the yolk. Soo no silkies for me. I dont like shipped eggs
So sorry about your hatch. Yuk. It took us 4 batches before we got some to hatch. I've got some silkies that you're more than welcome to if you're interested in coming to Long Beach!! Just getting them outta the incubator now! PM me if you're interested. So sorry.
