ANYONE HAVE EGGS DUE!! CHARTS ON PAGE ONE POST ONE!! NEWCOMERS WELCOME!!!

Well I had to do one today. Luckily there wasnt one in there like I thought, but it did cross my mind. I would have been upset, but I dont think that this egg would have hatched since it had a big crack in it.

I have hens still laying in that nest box, so I need to get another one in there. I am leaving 2 in there that were just layed to see if maybe those are gonna set. I dont think that the eggs under her are going along since when I candled them I saw no veins or anything :(

Aww im sorry to hear that :(

I took 7 eggs out from under my broody female (duck). When they were about 7 days along so I could incubate and see some hatch. My question is, when they hatch will I have any trouble putting them under Momma? Will she notice if she goes from 10 baby ducks to 17???

Went into lockdown tonight. Not real happy with the size of the air cell, but they were all fertile and developed. That is really what I wanted to know.

i went into lockdown also. The air cells were a little on the small side for what i like. But all 34 were good soo im hopeful some will hatch. Good luck on urs. looks like well be hatching the same day!

Yay for everyone that has had chicks hatch! Congrats!

I got the duck eggs this morning....now....tell me again please what is the humidity supposed to be for duck eggs? I also told the woman not to wash them with water even if they are dirty, that I would rub it off with sandpaper...she said she lightly wiped them with a warm damp cloth

I'm setting ducks for the first time 3/10. Cleaning/Wiping duck eggs is ok, I think you actually can wash them in a particular way. There is a duck hatching calendar in the first post of this thread that answers your other questions.
