wow...cute little chicks and nice pips..congrats to all that are hatching! Just two more days to lockdown for me..I can't wait!, I candled last night, I don't see any more room for them to grow in there...LOL

Went to the school this morning. Found 13 chicks had hatched. There was one that had fully zipped but it had died trying evidently. The smell was awful. There was another one that was cracked, not really zipped. We went ahead and quickly opened the incubator and removed those two. There were 22 eggs to start with, 13 have hatched, and I think maybe 2 more pips (that I could see, anyway). The rest we can't really tell. Day 21 was yesterday. I'm thinking by tomorrow morning we'll have to get the chicks out and put them in the brooder if no more are going to do anything. I'm worried about taking the lid off the incubator for too long. I won't be available this evening, so my son is meeting the principal to see what's going on at that time. The humidity is at 65 percent, but it seems like these peeps are taking awhile to dry. The first one to hatch (thursday night) isn't completely dry but it's getting there. It seems awfully wet in there. How long does it usually take for them to dry? Or will they not dry completely until they're out of the incubator?
