Just wondering if anyone can tell me what they have had happen from the mixes, did they get curly feathers? We have 7 Sebastopols and one Pilgrim Goose. The Pilgrim just hatched these today, she has hatched a clutch before and I believe the were all males, all were white as adults, and did eventually get curly feathers but much later and way less curly than the sebastopols. I believe this batch is 3 females and 3 males.

They should be smooth-breasted with different degrees of curls on their backs. You might even get one that is totally smooth on occasion. I am not sure if the dimorphic color applies with the crossing.

Thanks,
Genetics are so confusing to me! I believe her last ones were are colored like Sebastopols, but at the time I didn't know Sebastopol goslings could be sexed by color, this time 3 of them definitely look like female pilgrims, very little yellow, mostly gray, with darker bills. I will keep them until the fall so it will be interesting to see how they turn out.
She is only here as a pet, so of course she would hatch 6 and the Sebastopols I want to hatch would only hatch one male out of 4 nests!

No- sebastopols can only be sexed by down color if both parents are pure for white. I would think that all of the offspring will be finish out white- no matter what the gender. Sometimes boys will have more grey by the tail as they mature. I would run this by Pete55 or Celtic Oaks- they are pretty good with the color stuff.
