What you describe is usually a respiratory disease... Throat worms are extremely uncommon.I have had no hens die. I forgot to add that one rooster acted like he was gagging before he died...like he was having trouble breathing. I googled and decided he had throat worms and gave him worm medicine. He died the next day.
Call your state lab tomorrow. They can give you directions on how to swab one of your bird's throats to send the swab in for testing for some respiratory diseases.Thank you.
