Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I grew those rainbow carrots this year. They make a pretty soup.

I think hubby is hoping I feel better soon. He works to much to cook too and has been surviving on jerky and apple butter on toast.

He ate the soup tonight and said it was good. Starve em long enough and anything tastes good.

I made a big ole pot of veggie soup today.
Pretty much if I had it and it was a veggie it went in.
 tasted good so must have been ok . lol

I did save the broccoli for broccoli soup later!

We make Garbage Stoup all winter long!

Recipe:

2-4 quarts broth
1 stick of butter
Whatever else sounds good, diced, cubed, sliced, chopped, whatever

Bring to a boil. Reduce and let simmer with a lid on. Turn it off for a while. Turn it back on and simmer again. Scoop out a bowl. Toss in a bag of frozen okra to thicken. Simmer and serve.

We usually make a pot of this so big that we can bring it to a boil right before bed time, turn it off and leave it on the stove. Next morning it's still warm.

I guess about 2 months ago, I saw a post on FB of this sweet little dog that needed a home. I got the dog home and put her straight in the tub, she was so infested with fleas, that she barely had hair on her back. When the water ran over her, she cried. I tried to rinse the soap off and the water turned coffee brown. I couldn’t get the soap out, so I took her to the backporch and scissor cut her for 4 HOURS! I am scared of using the clippers and didn’t know what I was dealing with.
This poor dog had fist sized mats hanging all around her face, ears and stomach. Her feet were encased in mats and those mats where attached to her stomach mats!! They pulled when she walked!
We named her Mattie. The vet thinks she is about 12. As best I can tell she is deaf and someome loved her at some point because she knows tricks and is so precious!! I will post some pics and videos. I have another video, but I cannot find it.
Found the other video! Maddie does this all the time in the car.
OMG!!! She's so similar to our Olive!!!
She was rescued from a puppy mill back in 2010. We didn't know but turns out she was in a video about the shelter. She's the white scrawny one getting a bath & cut towards the end.

And here she is now at the ripe old age of 12.

When we got her, she could barely walk, dirty as all get out, had bite marks & missing toe nails, & was scared of everything. She didn't know how to play so she just took all the bones & toys we have her & lined them up in front of her in the most OCD way, like she couldn't believe they were hers!

Now she is spoilt beyond belief! She has her own teddy bear. Ravages all the fruit in our yard.

And she's a pacifist. Can't stay in the room if we're swatting at mosquitoes. The chickens boss her around. So much for a herd dog!!

My kids and I say moist b/c so many people think it's gross. My daughter said it at school once and a teacher told her to never say that work again. I blame HIMYM for that one.

Hmmm I'll have to think about that. I'm not sure it would work w/ how my coop/ run is laid out, but it's worth considering. Thanks!

I have a sebright bantam who was hatched sometime in Feb, laid her first egg 7/29/17 and she lays 1 egg 5-6 days a week. I keep track of # of eggs / day on a calendar b/c I'm weird like that.
I'm weird same as you!
I'm tracking all the eggs - who laid, date, & # grams on my gardening calendar.
