Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

now my parents had a double yellow head named pretty boy that died when I was about 2 but the stories I heard of him were so funny he allowed out of his cage all day and when he would hear my dad pull up in the drive way he would sit up on the top the window and peak down to look for my dad and in the mornings if his cage wasn't uncovered by a certain time he would call out to my dad by his nick name 3 time he would start out with a whisper (no answer) he would go a little louder by the third time if he was still covered he would scream at the top of his little parrot lungs my parents had a stranger walk in to the apartment one time cuz when someone would knock he would say come in before he would say who is it

I agree....moist is a creepy word unless we are talking about carving into a nice big turkey. We are having some friends over on Saturday night to make saurkraut balls. For those of you who aren't familiar with these little deep fried balls ( I know... another creepy word) of goodness .Let me tell you that you are missing out. They are sausage, cream cheese, chopped jalapenos, various spices and of course saurkraut. You roll it into balls ( I know) and then plop them in the deep frier. Then we all sit around and listen to our arteries clog while we eat them

Moist. Balls. lol

I am sitting here giggling like Beavis after he ate all the candy and cereal in the house (I am the Great Cornholio!) Yep, I'm old. lol

Still just Mr.Squatch.

Side note: I lived in Manhappiness for a few years!

I miss it, it was a beautiful place. I loved eating at The Blue Stem Bistro, Early Edition, and Hu Hot!

I do not miss the chiggers and ticks though.

For real! That's fun! Did you go to college here? I do not love the chiggers but I do love Konza! When we first moved here I didn't know there were such things! We learned the hard way :thWe are about to move to central america next year so I guess we won't have to worry anymore:yesss:

Chiggers, yes, curse those invisible buggers. We never ever sit in the grass in spring or summer, We spray our boots to walk in woods, yes you must wear boots or you will suffer.... and you tuck your pants into your boots. And there are ticks....but they're nothing compared to chiggers. Autocorrect doesn't recognize that word, lol. They are very real.

He's in his intermediate training so we can get him certified as s therapy dog. And yes, it is after Bailey's Irish Cream. It's also better than the name the shelter gave him... Merlin. :tongue
Congrats and I admire you. My dog and I were a therapy team. (delta society)
Tons of work to achieve it but he loved every minute of it.
I loved it too.

Edited for terrible grammar and added that I loved it too!

Central America! That sounds awesome!!!

Yes, Konza is beautiful!! I miss seeing the buffalo herds.

I'm probably the only person that lived in Manhattan that wasn't military or in college.

I moved there from Colorado with my then fiancé who had friends there and we both wanted a change of scenery and fell in love with the charm and thought..."why not!?"

That's awesome!!!

They enjoy training, and it keeps us both out of trouble! Dylan is learning potty training. She has a night cage where she sleeps 7pm to 7am, I get her up and take her into the bathroom where I hold her over the toilet, and she poops. They she gets to go to the daytime cage and get treats. That is about 1/2 of the poop load for the day. She has not pooped in the night cage for over 6 months. Nice not to have to clean 2 cages!

That's awesome!!!
Yeah, it is too easy to brag on a smart bird like a Grey. They are easy to train. I could tell Dylan did not like to poop in her cage, she would wait until I opened the door in the morning, go out on the door and poop the floor. (A poop that a broody chicken would be proud of) Something had to be done!

Ok... This is one Mom's and grandmom's will appreciate... DS told me our granddaughter had not pooped enough over a period of time and unleashed me to provide all the cherry tomatoes she wanted. Now its important to know that other than fruit snacks, cherry tomatoes are her favorite.

So I went out and picked all the ripe cherry tomatoes and proceeded to give them to her. Wa la... She blew out her diaper and declared her tummy felt better.

She's loving farm life!:yesss:
