Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

So...the rooster and me are chilling here in south Louisiana.

If this was your guy, he migrated pretty far for a chicken.

This bird is pretty young, he doesn't even any spurs yet, just buds.

he was a rooster that would disappear all day and return at night

He definitely doesn't look like a 5 year old rooster. To me, he looks like a young (under 1 year old) cockerel.
westville oklahoma His mom was a hen that hitchhiked all over Arkansas and oklahoma.

Let me correct myself: He looks to me like a young (under 6 months old) cockerel.

Squatch Update #207:

Ok the trap is ready to be put out. I guess.

The spot on the floor next to the trap is chicken poop.

I cleaned it up.

Acts like my Americaunas/Easter Eggers. Some I can only pick up off the roost at night and they scream like they're being mauled.

I agree with the advice so far. Patience, treats, sweet talking, sitting still. Works with most non-lethal animals.
