Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I can't give it up entirely (either -Facebook) but I sure do grow weary of reading posts from the same people over and over again who were never taught that it's very impolite to brag.
I know!!! Right???!!!!???:barnie:barnie
I can see tooting your own horn every now and then. Wouldn’t you feel so much better if someone posted, “Congratulations on being first in real eastate sales this month ! I saw it in a local magazine.”? Oh, you wouldn’t? :smack
:lau

I wish I had a for real camera, but I am totally intimidated by those things. And another thing I would forget to grab and wish I had when I see something.

Last year we had a resident Kestrel that I loved watching when I would leave the house. I never could get a picture of him. Our Kingfishers are back and I need a picture of them too. We have hundreds of white pellicans show up yesterday. I need to find out exactly what they are and find a picture. Soon the Sandhill Cranes should be showing up. They are a joy to listen to.

What does a mild winter in Ohio look like?

They feel like my children growing up. I am trying to enjoy them, but that planning part of me needs to know what they are!!!

The small grey and white Cochin is asserting and determing her pecking order today. To come in on the bottom the other day, that little go getter in moving up quickly.
All tuckered out. It is a hard job trying to be big.

Awww Your kids are adorable!
I wish I had such nice pix of my girls. I thought I took a lot but I guess it's never enough.

BTW I spent 1 winter in Ohio & it almost killed me. The worst was the wind, whipping the warm breath outta ya & icing over the roads.

Story please!
Where'd you get them? Names? Ages?

@Sassysouth I'd say mild is random snowing that comes and goes but temps stay in the 30's.

This is from the Ohio weather service.
"Northeast Ohio

The Winter of 2015-2016 was influenced by a strong El Niño. This resulted in an unusually warm winter across Northern Ohio with well below normal snowfall. November was mild with temperatures averaging 4-6 degrees above normal but December was a month for the record books. All of the major climate sites had their warmest December ever with average temperatures 10-13 degrees above normal.

Temperatures reached the 70s early in the month. The warm temperatures made getting snow difficult and most locations outside of the Northeast Ohio snowbelt finished the calendar year with less than an inch of snow total.

Temperatures got back to near normal for January but snowfall remained minimal outside of the snow belt. A couple lake effect events occurred during the middle portion of the month. These storms brought 2-3 feet of snow to some parts of Northeast Ohio. Locations west and south of the Cleveland area saw no more than a few inches of snow the entire month.

Mild weather returned for February and March. Temperatures both months averaged a few degrees above normal. For most locations February was the snowiest month of the winter with more than a foot of snow at all of the major sites except Toledo. A few more inches of snow fell in March.

The winter ended with a bang, with a significant snow storm on April 8th and 9th. For most of northern Ohio, this was the biggest storm of year. A swath of 6-10 inches of snow stretched from the Toledo area eastward across the northern end of the state. Many trees were downed by the heavy snow.

Temperatures remained chilly the rest of the month with average temperatures a couple degrees below normal.

Snowfall totals for the season where the lowest in years. Cleveland’s total of 32.8 inches was less than half of the normal of 68.1 inches. Both Mansfield and Toledo failed to reach 30 inches for the season."

I live in "the snow belt" and it can get pretty deep here.

Those pictures are from the "mild" 2016 January. I was snowed in. Couldn't get out of my driveway. The picture of the road, I took after I shoveled my way to it. LOL

I am so excited for people when they get something new. :clap
But please, there is a distinct difference between sharing good news and being yucky about it.

Do they have to flap it all over the Internet?

It's like nanny nanny boo-boo...:tongue I'm rich and I want you all to know it.

If I were rich, sure I'd buy a few things, but then ...oh wow!
I'd have so much fun doing good!
I'd be like the ultimate global fairy godmother!
Famine?
Gotcha
Water?
You got it
Disease?
Doc's on the way

And I'd buy enough instruments to supply to every middle school and high school marching band wanna be kid, who couldn't afford one, In honor of my son Nick.
He wasn't a great player, but God he TRIED to be! Being in a marching band was an activity that provided him with a sense of belonging. He loved it.
I'd love to give that to some kids.

It is absolutely beautiful! I love to take snow filled vacations.

Here is our record snowfall 3 years ago ( I am in north Alabama). It was probably around 8-12”. We pray for snow every year!
