Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Yes definitely depends on the age of the home. I bought one that was dark paneling throughout. I decided to paint it. What a pain that was. Scrubbing and prepping took forever but it turned out nice.
The prep is more important than the final paint! We bought a '77, they had sprayed cheap "builder white". It was coming off with every bump. NO primer coat or cleaning was done! Horrible!

Schedules are important w/ children. I was late getting my eggs on Monday b/c I was busy adulting and they ate one of their eggs! I assume it was broken b/c the others were all intact but it was like if I wasn't going to feed them they'd get their own dinner.
They know what time it is, to the minute! If you are late, it breaks the training & trust you are building, and sets it back months. Dylan waits to poop when I get her up. I take her to the toilet at 7am. I have a reminder alarm on my phone, it saves cleaning some very noxious morning poop!

That stuff works, I have used it to cover cat pee and crayon, no bleed through, no smell! Just use a scraper to get the flaky bits off, and smooth the edges with some drywall patch: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Homax-8...tch-and-Repair-Spray-Spackling-5563/203916845
That is for small areas, convienent. You might need to get a box of dry mix, if you have a lot to cover.

@Smuvers Farm
That stuff is awesome. I used it on the ceiling of a house I bought to cover water stains on otherwise good drywall.

That being said....... If the border crap is cracked and peeling there are a few options. None of which are fun.
Painting over it you will still see the outline and cracks unless you skim coat with drywall mud.
Replacing all the drywall would be a PITA.
To skim coat mix the drywall mud thinner then if doing seams and get a big knock down blade (special tool for doing knockdown texture), spread the mud and use the blade to smooth it.......then the sanding and sanding and dust begins. Not a favorite task for me.

I would get some Kilz and try it on a section that has crackling to see if it can fill it. It is kinda thick, certainly thicker then latex paint.

Get a spatula, and try peeling what you can. Get some sandpaper, and try smoothing it some, first.

GOT IT!! Gonna grab some kilz this weekend and give it a shot in kiddos room. His was the first room promised to get painted..... we even picked out the paint color then BAM... hit the border paper wall.... ugh!

Drive safe. I'm heading out to buy a chuck roast or something. Thank you @rjohns39

Pick me up one!!! I have some in the freezer, but don't feel like defrosting. Oh hell, I gotta go get the turkey in the brine.... yip!!! I'm off like a dirty shirt!!!!

It really is like having a child. It's awesome that you can train them so well. I'm still trying to get my human children to stop throwing their dirty clothes in w/ the clean clothes. But my chickens & cat come when I call them, unlike my human children. Though my human childre *probably* wouldn't eat my body if I died in their presence.

Home from the dentist! So yesterday evening my Yorkie ate Maddie bowl of food with Lasix and heart medication. I know this because she woke me up TWICE to go pee! The first time she ran to the rug and emptied her bladder before I made it to the door!!!! My dogs are killing me slowly!!

I guess because I only had 4 hens before, there was never chest bumping or pecking. These chicks are nuts! Biting backs and pulling feathers. Relentless!

What is going on???

LOL, depends how hungry they got! Chickens are always starving, the Donner Party every day! A parrot will starve to death in a few days, too.
