Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Who is NFC??
My birthday was yesterday and hubby is in Montana, again. He did send me flowers which was a nice surprise. My 2 sister-in-law’s took me to breakfast.
My son has has a cold and sore throat for a couple of weeks, but his tonsils don’t look so hot this morning. He is finally getting his wish to stay home from school and go to the doctor. He hasn’t felt great, but has still been able to go to school. I will update later.

Oh no! :hit
You should have told us sassy!
Happy Belated Birthday! :celebrate:wee:ya
Sending you much love
:love

:frowGood luck at the doctors!
Try not to breath while you're in there!!!!

I actually saw a reference to these "garden trays" somewhere on BYC and went right to the coop to measure then back into the house to look at their website which is:
Greenhousemegastore.com

The person that mentioned them I believe WAS using them on their poop boards.
The ones I bought are called:
Maxi Garden Tray.
They were 8.50 (?) each.
Go look on their site.
Or imagine a very study rectangular boot tray. Nice thick plastic.

They were available in lots of sizes and I was really surprised at just how great they are. They far exceeded my expectations and I'm certain they'll last for several years.

Wow! That's pouring. I'm hoping the front holds off here til later today. I want to get the pressure washing done out back. It's a beautiful morning here, 62 also. The sun is burning off the fog. I love the color of the light in the morning. Have to wait though to get started because of the sleepyheaded neighbors.
I asked how far because one of my kids is in grad school at UTKnox. She's coming home for thanksgiving. :love

What his her degree? I am 3.5 hours from Knoxville.

It is warm here too. I would love to work on my run this morning, but I have a hair appt. The mosquitos and biting bugs are ruthless. I am covered up in welps!!

Happy Birthday!
There's some nasty sickness stuff going around my area too. My boss has been off for a week w/ bronchitis and a sinus infection. My little one was sick (& my big one was faking sick), and a variety of other people have had other things here and there. I hope this isn't a sign of how the winter is going to be.
I know what you mean. And the crazy weather doesn’t help.

I'll have to take a look. The post I read had the boot trays, but the widest I could find was 17" and my board was 22" wide at that point. I was hoping to be able to keep it so I had 2 roosts there, but there's just not enough room to keep them from pooping on each other. I haven't been there late enough to see where everyone is sleeping. I'm wondering if someone might be perching on the edge of the poop board.

Hahaha! Is that a twerking pig???
Why is Peat Moss so expensive? I guess it is in large bags and contains a lot. It is $7 cheaper at Home Depot than Lowe’s. I think Lowe’s maybe organic.
IDK, but I wish stuff came in smaller bags, but costs proportionally less. Why does a small bag cost $2 less than the big bag. If they can afford to package 20 lbs of something for $10, then a 5 lbs bag should be $2.50, not $8. Excuse me if I don't need a 15 lb bag of leftovers rotting in the corner. I guess I could just toss the extra stuff in the run though. (amounts and prices aren't actual... just generalizing to complain).

I've given up trying to figure out chicken pecking order. I would think I know who top hen is only to see her get pecked by someone else. My sweet little Wheaten Ameraucanas were the youngest in the flock till I hatched eggs. One of them made it her daily mission to show the new arrivals they were at the bottom. She would go chick bowling. Wait till they were all together scratching, then run into the crowd full speed just to watch them scatter. I swear I heard her laughing as they ran away.
We might have to trade some eggs one day I've been interested in wheaten Ameraucana
