Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Pics
I had bad experience with a similar situation, someone dumped a rooster near my house, he couldn't jump the fence to my hens and my rooster wouldn't let him anyway, after a week or two he was eaten by a fox, then I had really hard time trying to get rid of that fox. it took 4 or 5 of my hens.

Perhaps you are not thinking ahead? While chickens are flock-dears, she will NOT like to be cooped up with strangers, after her freedom. AND your flock may NOT want a "stranger" added to their company, nor wish to roost near a new bird! She may be more miserable if you capture her. She may be tormented, injured by your comfortable chickens. OR maybe you and she and your flock will say "okay"? Guess you will have to decide, try it, if it can work--but do not be afraid to let her go again, if it doesn't work out! Yes, hawks, other varmint may take her, but chicken are prey animals and do not suffer fear of capture by predators--it is just us who hate so to lose ANY of our chickens--for any reason. Good luck, but do not feel badly, if not successful, you will have tried! But we all would be pleased to hear of a successful rescue!

Yeah, he wouldn't have. He trips over his wing tip and rolls over if he tries to hussle around. He flipped himself about 3 times while I was trying to catch him.
But you caught him and will fix him. What is it with us and feathered friends? If they have feathers we take care of them. My neighbors think I'm weird. Maybe I am, but happy to be so.

When friends stop by and they see me with the chickens, they always ask, “you really like chickens, don’t you?” I have missed out not having them most of my life. But I have always loved birds.

Not sure he can be fixed, but he has food, water, and a safe place to live without being eaten. He also doesn't act like his wing HURTS just that it doesn't work right. He can fold it up some, but if he tips a little, the wing tip hits the ground and he starts stepping all over it. If after a while he tames down to where I can handle him a little easier and he is still having these issues, I will probably just trim the flight feathers on that side so that he doesn't keep tripping himself since he can't fly even with all the feathers there.
