Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Considering that we've altered the sparse laying cycle of jungle fowl during the domestication process to get modern day chickens that lay nearly every day, I don't doubt that there are some birds that do produce more than one egg every 26 hours. I have very close trusted friends who swear that they get more eggs in a day than they have chickens. A lot of things are possible!

Each of them has something identifiable about their eggs.

Egg count so far today is 4.
And Rosie (welsummer) is in the nest right now "thinking about" making a mortgage payment....

I understand how the egg production process works and the 26-27 HR rule...
But....

Is it possible my australorp (Margaret-Tate) could have laid two eggs today?
Because there are two that look like hers and I have checked the nests several times today starting at 7:30 am, so I know it wasn't a leftover from yesterday.

Or did one of the buffs lay an egg and forget to put the "color" on it?!?

Yes, I've had birds lay two eggs in a day. I don't know which one but it was an IL as I had six hens and got seven white eggs.

I just got those this morning.
I don't even know if I was getting a good deal or not.

Probably not because I have no idea what a Nepresso Machine is.

I have an old school coffee pot thing...no keurig machines here.

Shoot I can't even drink real coffee...only decaf.
