Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Well, all. I'm logging out for most of the weekend. I have a bunch of traveling and visiting to do and I HATE the iPhone app for this wonderful forum. So, I doubt I'll be on a bunch. Hoping to see some advancements on the squatch situation over the weekend. I'll miss you all.
Bye!
We'll miss you. Safe travels!

Such cute little ones @Sassysouth.

I think you are right about that little marshmallow being a boy.
That Crele Orpington sure is cute!

My Brahma were turds too until they were about 15 weeks old then they mellowed a ton. Now they are low to mid level ranking and super sweet.
Sandy waits in the coop every morning for the wet mash. Then the dark Brahma and the light come back in. They eat very peacefully even after the rowdy BSL start shoving everyone around.

Have patience they will come around.
That is the best news ever! I am about ready to take off heads, especially that Silkie.
Obviously at 5 weeks it is too early to tell, but this particular Silkie has had Roo posture from day 1 and is much bigger than his siblings.

Big book readers in my house, even if we don't read all the time. Big proponent of books, in print or digital.

Youngest wasn't doing all that great in high school, but she switched to an alternative school and loves it so much that she's taking her time getting het hands on her diploma, even though she walked with her class, because there are so many other services they offer, education wise. She will stay for 8 hrs or more, and is involved to the point of being the unofficial, unpaid vice principal.

To everyone, have a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Sesame was in a fowl mood today! Started out first thing and ended with her cornering my Yorkie and pecking her multiple times. It was an awful sound. Sesame has had to make compromises with the new chicks and I think she is over it. She looks at those chicks the same way she looks at human food. Confused. Next Saturday or Sunday I will start on the additional run, so maybe that will help and she can become more eggcepting.

Well miss you too. Have a great weekend!

I've never made it!
But it cracked me up when you were talking about all ways you've tried to use up your fruit. Suddenly the scene from Forest Gump started playing in my heard about the many ways to make shrimp.....
And I had a thought could you make a crunchy salsa with apples?!?

Like a chutney but not cooked? So I started looking.

Allrecipes.com is a go-to for me and sure enough there were lots of apple salsa recipes on there!

I've never tasted apple salsa but I'd be willing to.
:lau That's exactly how I felt!
I'll try the salsa recipe this weekend. Still have some apples falling.
Come on over & don't forget the chips!
