Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Yup!

The hens have their own coop; the roosters have their own coop; and my little bullied hen, Chesta, has her own coop.

Where because someone just told me my black Ameraucana rooster looks like a fat Sumatra lol

The post was about someone wanting to draw roosters so had asked about beautiful rooster breeds.... this person posted or said something about the black sumatra and I googled it and the pics were just sooo pretty! But my fav colors are black and green so.... it's no wonder I think they're sweet!

I started with 4 unwanted hens. Then when people heard I took wayward chickens I got 2 more. It was the following year when chicken math actually got me. I went to pick up 4 pullets and heard myself say "ooh what are those?" Yep brought home 6.

How do you even use a female leghorn? Are they fryers too... or just soup em up?

Anything they were the perfect chicken for a long time. They have been replaced by the RIR awhile back
