Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

:loveLove extra toes!
We had a cat when I was a kid who was white with ginger tabby spots. She was named Little Lotta because she had a lot of little extra toes. I think she had up to 7 per foot. Her feet were almost twice as wide as a normal cat's foot. She was also a "talker" and would meow in a long phrases when you talked to or petted her.

You might need to get surgery. This is the first time for me and I hope the last
I will do anything before that. I met/read about too many people it doesn't help. I do wear the darn braces to bed when it starts flaring.

The biggest help for me has really been SHOES.
I threw away the custom made insoles and now wear sketchers "go walk" line.
They come in men's and women's. There have been 5 generations of them but Only certain ones work for me so if you're interested pm me and I'll tell you what to look for.

Also when I first get up in the morning ( don't even hobble to the bathroom in bare feet!) and when bebopping around the house I wear "OOFOS recovery" flip flops. The have a very high arch and do wonders! When you try them on in the store they feel weird. In one half day of wearing them , I promise they'll be broken in and bring you blessed relief.
I just checked their website and it appears they've branched into some other "recovery footwear" that aren't flip flops !
I will definitely be researching them!

Folks, We have a BYCer in central PR. Emergency supplies have made it to seven "distribution points" but don't appear to be going any further. A small group of us are sending packages directly to her to see if they get through. Things can also be purchased at walmart for in-store pickup.

Her list can be found here. If you'd like to send something, reach out to me, kiki, nanakat, or smuvers and we'll get you her info. Trying not to post it publicly.

Here are my Dark Cornish Trio. I have them in one of my 5'x 5' broody runs until I can get something more permanent made up. I'll try to get better pictures later, but I had just let them out and fed them and it is cold and rainy today. The rooster is really good with is girls so far. He was the first to venture out of the crate and clucked to them that there was food and they followed him right out.

This is my black kitty. He is polydactyl (5 toes on both front feet & 6 toes on each back foot) and his name is Gomez. He's 18 pounds of robust love. View attachment 1175512
So cute! We had a 7 toed cat named Seven. Someone stole her b/c she was so beautiful. People stole our cats all the time. I once had an all black cat that disappeared and I went to our close neighbors and this girl answered and she's like 'We get strays all the time', Um, she's not a stray. SMH.

Yes, but what if they're super sweet and affectionate and run to you just to be picked up and snuggled? See....that's why I'm up to three "pet" roosters and one "almost-pet" cockerel. *Sigh* My boys LOVE me.
That is the best kind of rooster problem to have. Your nice guys might have a shot at being sold to a person who wants a Nice breeder! Annoying, mean, small roosters that maim hens, those are crock-pot taco meat fodder!
