Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

@Sassysouth
Are you burying it under where the birds will be walking or as an apron on the outside of the run?

I caution against under their run because when it gets dug up it can cause really bad toe and foot injuries.

I buried it underneath. I was worried about it in the beginning, but I have several inches on top of it and my Red Production’s never had any trouble. They never dig that deep.

Wow.... Mine dig to China.
Sometimes I cannot find one and she is snoozing in the dusting crater they made.
Same here! I do deep litter, so the run is a nice mix of dry loose dirt and broken down plant material. The girls looooooove to dig in it and I am pretty sure my two ISA browns are having a contest to see who can dig the biggest, deepest hole. I go in with a rake once a week to smooth things out. Mainly in self defense. I don't wanna break an ankle in one of their hidey-holes

Sounds wonderful.....but what are zoodles?

LOL! Zucchini that's been cut on a spiralizer to resemble noodles. We never expected to like it as much as we do, but it's a great alternative to pasta for those of us who had to give up on wheat products. My son HATES zucchini as a general rule, but even he loves zoodles. And quite honestly, they're fun and even therapeutic to make.
