Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

PIC was squealing like a friggen PIG once they said we could have them..... before we even could SEE them... squealing I tells ya.... PIC needs a swift kick in the arse... or needs to go to regular school instead of home school!

I hope the 50# bag I have is whole corn... if not I'm screwed....
Do me a favor...just pretend it is what ever you don't want it to be and return it.

Rae, sweetie, my chicken math is just fine... I have 12 in the run, a broody mama with her 7, 2 week olds in the brooder/hospital coop, and 15 eggs in the incubator.... my math is SPOT ON!!!

oh wait.... ::: mumbling::... YUP... needed 6 moar chickens!

I'm down to 82 chickens and plan to start setting up one of my breeding pens this week so I can hatch another 2 dozen eggs. You guys are chicken math amateurs. ;):love

No, it just gets stale faster. Not a problem there are lots of ways to use it.

@Parront - Okay, I just popped Lenny in the oven to slow roast. This pan is supposed to be for up to a 20 lb turkey and Lenny nearly fills it!

I had 83 earlier this year. Then I sent a bunch of roos to freezer camp. I'm now starting to try to figure out how to set up semi-permanent breeding pens for 4-5 breeding groups so I don't have to keep rotating chickens through my pvc breeding run and mobile coop. I have some mutt chickens I want to breed, I have Delaware and New Hampshire chickens I want to breed true. I want to make some Red sex-links with my Delaware hens and New Hampshire Roo. And, my crown jewel, I just got a trio of show quality LF Dark Cornish this week.

I think I should be ready for Chicken Trigonometry (maybe even calculus) by next year.

Can y'all post some pics of your breeding pens? Rotating or otherwise.
