Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I lost one of my chicks today :( my wife called me and told me a hawk had him up in the tree. The little guys keep squeezing through the fence. I think I fixed the problem but I was going to eat him when he got bigger. They aren't smart enough to stick close to the big guys :he . I saw the stupid hawk when I got home. Shot him with an acorn and a slingshot maybe he won't come back.

Sorry to hear that sweetie... sucks!

It was one of the roos I'm glad he didn't get one of the girls. He was only a month old

Was yours psychotic about socks? She couldn't wear fuzzy socks or socks w strings or socks w nubby corners. We had many morning meltdowns over socks. She still has tag issues. It's annoying bc she cuts out the size, or cuts a hole when she's taking out the tag.
This was me as a kid. I hated socks with seams in the toes. Still do. I still prefer tag-less shirts. I can't stand certain fabrics. I hate tight (in the waistband) pants.
I have to share this w you guys! I found a newt today. I moved a board to get into Odin's run & it was hiding under it. Jaiden almost ate it! We were going to keep it, but I don't really have a place for it, so it was released in a chicken free zone. His name is Timmy.
My chickens used to go under our house to get newts to eat. Nothing is safe from my dinos.

I'm sorry. That's so sad. I'm surprised I haven't lost any chicks yet. My black cochin/dominique chicks are always going through the poultry netting. We got 1/2" deer fencing to attach to the inside of the poultry net. We just need to find time to attach it to 300' of fencing.

My kid is now 42, she grew up normal! Despite predictions of some folks!
Good to hear so many free up to be functional members of society. Last year mine had an epic melt down about her dance costume. It was for hip hop & was neon, plus the jacket had sequins that itched her arms. I ended buying her a long sleeve leotard to deal w it, then she was too hot. One day.. Just has to get through one day w the costume.. Sigh.
One of mine was like that.
Tags, cuffs, waistbands, the wrong texture of certain fabrics, collars, zippers, the thread behind buttons.... the list was endless.
If we got lucky and found something that he said was comfortable we'd run out and buy it in multiples even if we had to put it on a credit card.
Some mornings I could get everyone else completely ready for school in the same amount of time it would take to get the right socks and underpants on him.
Shoes??!!
Omg.
Sometimes each shoe would have to be tied and retired dozens of times until they were neither too loose or too tight.

YOU. ARE. NOT. ALONE.

He's 27 now. He actually grew up moved out has a good job and takes good care of himself and his dog.

...small miracles.

So you are running a nudist colony too? Lol Mine aren't nudists, but they don't think twice about dropping their towel in the living room after a bath to get dressed. But we're all girls here. 1 bathroom & we just knock Then walk in, if the door is even closed, that is. & bras hanging on every doorknob & feminine products EVERYWHERE!
